The inaugural meeting of the Mingara Orchid Club Inc. was held on Monday 21st April 2008, commencing at 6pm in the Tasman Room of the Mingara Recreation Club.

Mingara Orchid Club Inc. commenced approximately 5 years after the 'Mingara Orchid Fair Club' committee formed in 2003, to run the Mingara Orchid Fair.

​This original fair committee consisted of Yvonne and Phil Spence, Ian and Elaine Slade, and Brian and Phena Gerhard. This group of six, planned and ran the first Mingara Orchid Fair in June 2004 and continued running the Mingara Orchid Fair, until the Mingara Orchid Club Inc. was formed in 2008 and commenced running the Mingara Orchid Fair and Show with the addition of a judged orchid show to the popular orchid fair.
